The Space & Equity Podcast is back this week as Obi sits down with Hugh Breland, Pastor at Historic.Church and CEO of U&I Spread The Light (formerly Achieve DFW). Obi shares how the peaks and valleys he has experienced in his personal relationship with God have led him to truly understand his purpose and passion to change the wealth trajectory for the Black Community.
Hugh explains his passion for advocating for those being excluded, dismissed, and thought of as less than. He has spent his life “in the margins, for the margins” which is the space that breaks his heart and the space he loves being invested in. The mission at U&I is to empower individuals with disabilities and those with barriers to work to achieve their highest level of employment and independence.
Obi and Hugh have developed a relationship over the past year and a half as Obi acts as Chairman of the Board of Directors for U&I and Hugh sits on the Board for Space & Equity.
U&I will be hosting The Dash Dallas, a 5K/1Mile Glow Run/Walk Extravaganza, on March 26, at 6pm at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas. It will be fun for the whole family with an interactive kids zone, shop small market, beer garden, live music, and much more.
